What is the process to achieve Family Balancing?

First, for obtaining multiple healthy embryos, the female partner goes through an IVF cycle (in vitro fertilization) using the male partner’s sperm.

The resulting embryos are examined to see if they have normal chromosomes. This information also establishes the gender of each embryo. This technology used is known as Preimplantation Genetic Diagnosis (PGD) and is a widely used technique for identifying an embryo's genetic information, including gender. Not to forget, PGD is carried out in conjunction with IVF.

1. PGD test is carried out on embryos in a lab post 5 to 6 days of egg retrieval.
2. Each developing embryo has a small portion of its tissue taken for examination. PGD provides details about each embryo that is examined. The PGD chromosomal information reveals if the embryo is male or female as well as whether it has any chromosomal abnormalities that frequently cause miscarriage.
3. Our test has data on each of the 24 chromosomes with a 98 percent accuracy rate.
